Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Chelsea star Kai Havertz.

Many reports had claimed last week that Real Madrid were keen on signing Havertz, with the club losing four forward players – Karim Benzema, Marco Asensio, Eden Hazard and Mariano Diaz.

A new report from Marca now claims that the Los Blancos have cooled their interest in the 23-year-old Chelsea star.

Havertz has a contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2025, and there have been rumours in the past that he could be sold this summer if he does not sign an extension.

The 23-year-old joined Chelsea in 2020 from Bayer Leverkusen, and helped Chelsea win the UEFA Champions League the following year.

Havertz has been underwhelming since his move to Chelsea, and has failed to live up to his huge money fee. He scored a meagre nine goals for Chelsea in the just-concluded season.
