Real Madrid have confirmed that key midfielder Toni Kroos won’t be departing the club this summer. Rather, the 33-year-old has signed a one-year contract extension with the Los Blancos.
Real Madrid confirmed his signing with a statement that reads: “Real Madrid and Toni Kroos have agreed to extend the player’s contract.
“He remains linked to the club until June 30, 2024. Toni Kroos arrived at Real Madrid in 2014 and is already the German player who has played for our club the most times, with 417 appearances.
“In his nine seasons as a Real Madrid player, he has won 20 titles: 4 Champions League, 5 Club World Cups, 4 European Super Cups, 3 Leagues, 1 Copa del Rey and 3 Spanish Super Cups.”
Kroos also toom to Twitter to react to his new contract with the club.
“Not done yet,” Kroos said in an image he shared on Twitter.
This is indeed a good deal. Keeping Kroos for another year is a fine decision, and his experience will be much needed around the young midfield the club is building.
