Dani Ceballos was nearing the end of his contract with Real Madrid, before recently signing a new deal.

The Spanish midfielder has signed a deal that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2027.

However, reports claim that Ceballos may not feature for the Los Blancos next season.

According to a report from El Chiringuito, there’s a possibility of the player leaving on loan this summer.

Carlo Ancelotti has hailed Ceballos as a top midfielder, and the 26-year-old gave a hundred percent whenever he featured last season.

However, there’s massive competition in midfield for next season, which will see him go down the pecking order.

The midfield is Madrid’s biggest spot, with a very high competition. There are Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, who all seem to be ahead of Ceballos. The signing of Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund will further limit Ceballos playing chances for next season.

The report claims Ceballos is more likely to get regular minutes for Los Blancos in the 2024-25 season, when both Luka Modric and Toni Kroos may have left the club.
