Real Madrid tried to sign Kylian Mbappe in 2021, but the deal failed at the time, as Mbappe signed a new contract with PSG.
Meanwhile, Mbappe has made it clear that he won’t be extending his stay at Real Madrid following the expiration of his contract in the summer of 2024.
Mbappe is now set to leave PSG as a free agent, and will even gain a £90m loyalty bonus if he stays put until 2024.
According to 90min, PSG have made it clear to Kylian Mbappe that they do not want him to leave for nothing next summer.
90min reports that talks have taken place in recent days between PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Fayza Lamari – Mbappe’s mother and agent. During the meeting, it is understood that Al-Khelaifi made clear the club’s stance. If Mbappe is not prepared to sign a new deal, they will look to sell him this summer.
PSG officials reportedly told Lamari that they want a quick sale, and will try to avoid a toxic parting with the 23-year-old.
PSG are now waiting for a response from Mbappe. However, sources have told 90min that they are already drawing up the package they would demand to sell Mbappe – understood to be worth around €200m.
Mbappe is definitely heading to Real Madrid, but it’s yet to be seen if the Los Blancos will be willing to spend that amount this summer, or rather wait to sign him for free next summer.
