Following the departure of Karim Benzema to Saudi Arabia, Real Madrid will need a new captain for the 2023-24 season.

Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez has been named as the new club captain.

Real have announced their four captains for the new season, with Nacho named the most senior.

Luka Modric, Dani Carvajal and Toni Kroos will assist Nacho as the second, third and fourth captains.

Nacho was close to leaving the club as a free agent, but ended up signing a new deal with Real Madrid last week.
