Former Real Sociedad star Nihat Kahveci has claimed that Arda Guler has the potential to play for Real Madrid or Barcelona.

The Fenerbahce wonderkid has been linked with a move to Real Madrid and Barcelona, but it appears that Barca are the one more interested in signing him.

Kahveci has hailed the youngster after watching him, and believes he’s a top talent.

Kahveci told Mundo Deportivo of the 18 year-old talent: “For me it is not necessary for him to reach 25 years of age to say that he is a mature player, for me he is already mature because I have seen that on the field.

“Although he does not wear the team’s captain’s armband, he exercises as such, he leads his team as the captain, talking to his teammates about what they have to do, what they can do, how we can win the game. He takes many responsibilities. I love him.

“I am a commentator and when I have seen him… You see when a player carries a ball and you say, this is good. But Güler… this is something else. On a personal level I love him because of his character and technically he is very good. I think he is going to play in Europe, outside of Türkiye.

“Are you saying that Barcelona loves him? I don’t know if he is going to go to Barcelona or Madrid, I love both teams and you already know that they are the two best in the world. I am Turkish and I would love for him to go to one of the two. I don’t know which one but I’m sure if they give him a chance he can play there and they can give whatever they want from him.”
