Toni Kroos joined Real Madrid from Bayern Munich in 2014, and the German star has gone on to win several titles at the Santiago Bernabeu, including 4 Champions League titles, and 3 La Liga titles.

At Bayern, Kroos was only able to win the Champions League once, and the German star has admitted that his time with Real Madrid has exceeded his expectations.

The 33 year-old said: “When I came to Madrid, I thought: I hoped I could win titles and the Champions League.

“I expected great things, but not as much as it has turned out.

“I came from a big club like Bayern with the idea of playing for many years, creating a place for myself, having a good relationship with the club and showing my quality.”
