Eduardo Camavinga spent much of last season playing as a makeshift left-back, as Ferland Mendy was injured for more than half of the season.
Camavinga indeed was successful in his unusual role, even though he’s a natural midfielder.
Speaking to The Athletic, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti was asked about the Frenchman, and he revealed where the 20-year-old will feature next season.
He said: “The idea is that Camavinga will play as an interior midfielder or as a pivot.
“When we have the left-back occupied with [Fran] Garcia or [Ferland] Mendy, he is not going to play there.”
Following the arrival of Fran Garcia, Real Madrid now have adequate cover at left-back.
