Eden Hazard signed up for Real Madrid in 2019, and the Belgian was expected to light up the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, it never worked for Hazard during his four years at the club, as the Belgian star spent most of the time injured.

Hazard’s contract was terminated at the end of last season, after four years at the club.

Speaking in an interview with SportTV, Rodrygo opened up on Eden Hazard’s struggles during his time at Real Madrid.

He said: “[He’s a] star. I was a big fan of Hazard. It’s a shame he couldn’t do it [succeed] at Madrid.

“For some time, we thought he was gonna do it, but [then] he had an ankle injury and we felt he wasn’t gonna be the same afterwards.

“He felt a lot of pain, he had to put a plate in his ankle. He trained normally and then out of nowhere he needed a new surgery. It was difficult for him. Playing with pain is the worst. The ankle bothered him a lot.”

Hazard registered a total of 19 goal contributions in 76 games for Real Madrid.
