Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde was involved in a fracas with Villarreal’s Alex Baena back in April.
Valverde was accused of punching the Villarreal player, and the Uruguayan faced a possible five-match suspension for allegedly punching the Villarreal player in the face at the Bernabeu parking lot.
In the latest development, Valverde has now been cleared of the alleged abuse.
Real Madrid appealed the previous judgment, and the Competition Committee accepted the appeals from Real Madrid and the player’s lawyers.
Accorrding to Marca, the case is now closed, as the Ordinary Justice couldn’t find sufficient proof to support Baena’s claims.
It’s yet to be seen whether Villarreal might appeal the decision in the coming days.
