First choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was missing in action as Real Madrid beat Manchester United 2-0.

Summer signing Arda Guler was also absent from the team for the second time running.

Carlo Ancelotti has explained why the duo didn’t take part in the game.

“Thibaut Courtois? He’s in a little bit of pain and it doesn’t make sense to risk it. He’ll play in the next game,” Carlo Ancelotti said after Real Madrid beat Manchester United.

“It’s the same with Arda Guler, who will play soon.”

Real Madrid are trying to manage Guler’s situation properly, and the youngster is expected to feature in the next game against Barcelona.
