Real Madrid followed up their pre-season success, with yet another victory.
After beating AC Milan 3-2, Carlo Ancelotti’s men defeated Premier League giants Manchester United 2-0.
Speaking after the game, Ancelotti hailed his team’s desire, passion and lack of ego as a recipe for success.
“We don’t have any egos in the team, and that makes it very easy to manage the dressing room,” Ancelotti told the media after Real Madrid beat Manchester United 2-0.
“The team is in good shape, the atmosphere is good and we’re motivated. We want to work well to start the season off well.”
Speaking on his new 4-4-2 formation, Ancelotti also revealed what was special about it, as he hailed the effectiveness of Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo and new signing Jude Bellingham.
He said: “The 4-4-2? The new system is working well. Vini Jr. likes to play a bit more centrally and sometimes he has to play out wide because he’s also very strong. His positioning and Rodrygo’s positioning creates a lot of threat because they’re very quick and we can play more direct like that. The system also enables Bellingham to show his quality.”
