Carlo Ancelotti is set to dish out his trademark 4-4-2 formation next season.

The system already seems to be working well in pre-season games so far, and it’s just for the players to adapt to it perfectly.

Pundits have suspected that Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr may struggle with this system, as the Brazilian loves to operate more from wide areas.

Ancelotti has hailed Rodrygo for adjusting seamlessly, and believes that Vinicius may have to do same.

“I think Vinicius needs to adapt to the new system than Rodrygo,” Carlo Ancelotti told reporters on Thursday.

“Rodrygo is playing inside [more centrally], but Vinicius is adapting. But he likes the position.

“He did really well there, he’s really dangerous because when he plays inside he’s closer to the goal and so he’s really fast and with the ball behind the defensive line he’s really dangerous.”
