Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has switched from his regular 4-3-3 system to a 4-4-2 formation.
The new system had worked well, with two wins in the first two games, but the third game saw the Los Blancos lose 3-0 to rivals, Barcelona.
Despite the heavy defeat, Ancelotti has insisted that he’d continue to train his side with the new system, and is sure that it will work well.
Ancelotti plays Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo as false number 9, while Joselu comes off the bench as an impact substitute.
When asked if he’ll stick to his current formation without a no.9 after the loss to Barcelona, Carlo Ancelotti said: “We have to continue in this path.
“Without a number 9 we create a lot of chances, so we are going to continue with this idea. 5 shots hitting the post? You rarely see that.”
