Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has dismissed reports linking Kylian Mbappe with a transfer to Liverpool this summer.

Mbappe is in a bit of a difficult situation, after failing to extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

The French club are desperate to sell off the forward to avoid losing him for nothing next year when his contract expires. They have also reportedly threatened he won’t play next season, so leaving now may be his best option.

Liverpool were recently linked with both a big-money offer and a loan move for the PSG star, but Klopp insists he’s not aware of anything of that sort.

Quoted by Ben Jacobs, the Reds’ coach said: “We laugh about it. I can say that I think he is a really good player. But the financial framework conditions don’t suit us at all.

“I would not like to destroy the story but as far as I know there is nothing to it. Maybe someone else from the club is preparing something and wants to surprise me! But this has not yet happened in the eight years I have been here.”

Mbappe is bent on finishing his contract with PSG, and then leave for Real Madrid as a free agent.
