Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has said he is experimenting with a different role for Vinicius Jr.

Vinicius Jr may have to play a new role in Carlo Ancelotti’s 4-4-2 system, different from his usual role out wide on the left in a 4-3-3 system.

Vinicius Jr may have to adapt to a new central role.

Ancelotti has said: “It is an evaluation that we are doing. And what the player has to do. Vinicius likes to play inside. On the outside he makes a difference, but on the inside you can score more goals.

“He was able to be more successful against Barcelona, but he did well. He is still the best on the outside, but on the inside you have a better chance of scoring.

“I think that at the market level something has changed. The player has more power than before. The player with the most ego prefers to win more individual titles. Others prefer to put their quality at the service of the team. It is the difference between a great player and a champion.”
