There have been rumours claiming that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez will step down his role as club president.

Real Madrid have now released a statement, claiming that the rumours are false.

See the official statement released by the club: “Faced with a rumour that appeared on some social networks stating that president Florentino Pérez was supposedly considering leaving the presidency of the club, Real Madrid CF would like to state the following:

“That these rumours are flatly false and obey some interests that have nothing to do with reality.

“And that at the next General Assembly of Representative Members of Real Madrid, the club’s Board of Directors will not propose on the agenda any point in which the name of Real Madrid City is discussed.”
