Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois left Real Madrid training on a stretcher, and is now set to miss action for a long time.

The Belgian is suspected to have suffered a serious knee injury as he gestured in pain after the incident.

Real Madrid have officially confirmed that Courtois has torn his ACL and could be ruled out for several months.

A club statement reads: “After the tests carried out on our player Thibaut Courtois, he has been diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The player will undergo surgery in the coming days.”

Second choice goalkeeper Andriy Lunin will keep in Courtois stead.

This indeed comes as a big blow, as Courtois is easily seen as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
