Since moving to Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad, the jersey number has been vacant at Real Madrid.

Carlo Ancelotti has closed the door to any new arrivals for the striking position at Real Madrid this summer.

“No one will use the number 9 this season,” Ancelotti said ahead of the game against Bilbao.

“I don’t think we are missing a striker. In the offensive aspect this preseason we have been good and we have had very good statistics. Our attack is okay.

“We have many options, many players can score goals this season: Vinicius, Rodrygo, Bellingham, Joselu, Valverde, Kroos, the defenders. We’re okay,” Ancelotti reiterated.

Ancelotti has confirmed that Real Madrid will not move for Kylian Mbappe this summer. However, they’re reserving the jersey for him for next season.
