Carlo Ancelotti started out with a 4-4-2 formation in Real Madrid’s first game of the season.
The game ended 2-0, with Real Madrid showing their superiority over Athletic Bilbao.
Vinicius doesn’t seem too sorted to the new system, as he has often played as a left winger who usually cuts into the centre.
Rodrygo seems more suitable in this position right, and scored the opener against Bilbao.
Carlo Ancelotti has however stated that Vinicius Jr has adapted well to his new position.
“I think that Vinicius has adapted to his new position [centre-forward] very well,” Carlo Ancelotti said after the game.
“If Joselu plays, we will have to adjust the lineup a little bit.”
Joselu came on in the second-half against Athletic Club, and Real Madrid switched from 4-4-2 to 4-2-3-1.
