Just three days after Thibaut Courtois suffered an ACL injury and would be ruled out until the end of the season, Eder Militao has also had the same injury.

Real Madrid have officially confirmed our biggest fears about Eder Militao’s injury. The defender has torn his ACL and could be ruled out for up to six months.

Militao started the 2-0 win against Athletic Bilbao, but was subbed off shortly after half-time, with Antonio Rudiger coming on for him.

The Brazilian lost balance on a slippery pitch and was unable to get off the ground for some time. He was eventually subbed off, as he winced in pain.

The club’s fears about it being an ACL injury has been confirmed.

A club statement reads: “Following tests carried out on our player Éder Militão, he has been diagnosed with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The player will undergo surgery in the coming days.”
