Real Madrid secured the signing of Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea, as the Los Blancos opted to sign the Chelsea goalkeeper on a season-long loan deal.
Interestingly, Kepa has said he would love Real Madrid to sign him on a permanent basis when his loan spell from Chelsea expires.
As quoted by Fabrizio Romano, Kepa said: “I hope that with my performances Real Madrid will decide to keep me after the loan. This club is legendary.”
Kepa was signed by Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao in 2018, for a fee of £71m man, but the Spaniard has been quite unpopular amongst Chelsea fans after years of questionable performances.
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino admitted that the goalkeeper’s move to Real Madrid happened so quickly.
He said before Chelsea’s game against Liverpool on Sunday: “With Kepa it is something that has happened very quick and it is a situation that is correct [reports of move].”
