Real Madrid have announced that defender Eder Militao has undergone a successful knee surgery.

The Brazilian suffered an ACL injury early in the second half against Athletic Bilbao on Friday.

Militao is expected to be out for a long time, and has now undergone a successful injury, the club has revealed.

Real Madrid released a club statement, thus: “Our player Eder Militao underwent successful surgery today to resolve the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee by Dr. Manuele Leyes, under the supervision of the Real Madrid medical services.

“Madrid and Militao will begin his recovery process in the next few days.”
