Just days after Kepa Arrizabalaga left Chelsea for Real Madrid, Chelsea have plunged into a goalkeeper crisis as their back-up goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli is now injured.

Kepa Arrizabalaga joined Real Madrid on a season-long loan, as a replacement for the injured Thibaut Courtois.

Chelsea had signed up Robert Sanchez to compete with Kepa for the number one spot at Stamford Bridge, but Kepa preferred a move to Real Madrid this summer.

With Kepa out, and third choice goalkeeper injured, Chelsea are now in a goalkeeper crisis.

Under-21 shot-stopper Lucas Bergstrom was named on the bench for Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool. However, the 20-year-old is not considered ready for the first team.

Chelsea will now be forced to sign another goalkeeper as soon as possible.
