Real Madrid were forced to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan from Chelsea, following the ACL injury suffered by Thibaut Courtois days before the season started.
Andriy Lunin has been in goal for the first two games of the season.
The Ukrainian, who has been an understudy to Courtois, kept a clean sheet in San Mames against Athletic Club and conceded once against Almeria as Madrid won 3-1.
However, it has been concluded by Carlo Ancelotti and his technical staff on who will be first choice goalkeeper.
According to reports, Lunin will return to the bench for the upcoming games for Real Madrid, as the decision has long been made for Kepa to become the number 1.
Lunin will be back-up to Kepa and will have to fight for a chance to oust the Spaniard.
