Real Madrid are playing a new system under Carlo Ancelotti this season.
The Los Blancos are lined up in a 4-4-2 system this term, and players are reacting differently to the new system.
One of such players who may be affected by the change in formation is Federico Valverde.
Valverde had 19 goal contributions last season, as he scored 12 goals and made seven assists across 56 games last season.
Valverde is yet to get a goal or assist for Real Madrid in the opening two games of the season, with Jude Bellingham being the focal point behind the strikers.
Ancelotti has admitted that Valverde may not get much goals this season.
“I think that in the system, Fede’s position has changed a little. He plays a little further back than last year and that can help him,” Ancelotti told the media.
“He has perfectly understood that if he has space, he has to run with the ball.”
