A recent debate on social media has been brought up, involving three football legends Luis Suarez, Robert Lewandowski and Karim Benzema.

Who is the better of the trio?

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has weighed in on the debate.

“Prime Luis Suarez, prime Lewandowski or prime Benzema?” Rio Ferdinand has been asked at the FIVE podcast.

“I’d choose prime Benzema. He was the hardest to play against,” the 44-year-old replied.

The former Manchester United defender faced Benzema four times in his career, winning on just one of the occasions. Benzema scored two goals in those four matches – one with France and one with Lyon.
