Carlo Ancelotti has done well in his two stints as Real Madrid manager.
The Italian has now matched a record held by Zinedine Zidane, who was also very successful across two spells as Real Madrid manager.
Ancelotti got his 172nd Real Madrid win in the 2-1 win against Getafe last week.
Following the win against Getafe, Ancelotti has matched Zinedine Zidane’s record as the second coach with the most games won in Real Madrid’s history.
Zidane and Ancelotti now have 172 wins as Madrid boss, second only to Miguel Muñoz, who has 357.
Ancelotti’s next win as Real Madrid manager will see him overtake Zidane to hold on to the number 2 spot alone.
Ancelotti’s victories are shared between LaLiga (111), Champions League (36), Copa del Rey (17), Club World Cup (4), European Super Cup (2) and Spanish Super Cup (2).
The Italian has won 10 titles with Real Madrid: 2 Champions Leagues, 2 Club World Cups, 2 European Super Cups, 2 King’s Cups, 1 League and 1 Spanish Super Cup.
With Ancelotti to leave the club at the end of the season, he’d not be able to break the record set by Miguel Muñoz.
