Cristiano Ronaldo has achieved so much in his career, and the Real Madrid legend is now at the twilight of his illustrious career that has seen him win five Ballon d’Or awards.

Ronaldo has set a number of records during his career, and there are a good number of them that may never be broken.

Let’s take a look at some;

  •  Ronaldo is the only player to score 50+ goals in six consecutive seasons. Ronaldo achieved this feat at Real Madrid between the 2010/11 and 2015/16 campaigns. Ronaldo scored 53, 60, 55, 51, 61 and 51 goals respectively. Lionel Messi on the other hand has not scored more than 50 goals in six different seasons throughout his career – let alone six consecutive campaigns.
  • Ronaldo is also the only player to score 10+ goals in seven Champions League seasons. CR7 may never play in the Champions League again, but he has set a massive record in this competition already. Ronaldo is the highest goalscorer in the history of the Champions League with 140 – 11 ahead of Messi with 129.
  • Ronaldo has the most goals in international football. Ronaldo has scored 122 goals in 198 appearances for Portugal since making his debut all the way back in 2003.
  • Ronaldo is the only player to score 60+ goals in four consecutive calendar years.  Ronaldo scored 60, 63, 69 and 61 goals during each calendar year, between 2011 and 2014 seasons. The run came to an end when he fell three goals short in 2015. Messi only holds the record for the most goals scored in a calendar year with 91 for Barcelona and Argentina in 2012.
  • Ronaldo has the most European Golden Shoe awards (4). The European Golden Shoe is handed out to the player with the most league goals in a season across the top leagues in Europe.
  • Another striking Ronaldo record is that he is the only player to win every trophy at two different clubs. Ronaldo is the only player in the history of football to have won the domestic league, domestic trophy, domestic super cup, Champions League and Club World Cup with two different teams. To add to that, he has also won the Ballon d’Or, Golden Boot and Player of the Year award at two different clubs – Manchester United and then Real Madrid.

Truly, there can never be another Cristiano Ronaldo.
