Real Madrid started the day behind Barcelona who had won their weekend clash and were top of the league standings, pending Real Madrid’s game against Real Sociedad.
Sociedad made it a difficult contest, with Andre Barrenetxea putting the visitors ahead, just after 11 minutes.
Not long afterwards, Real Sociedad had another goal ruled out for offside.
Real Madrid started to grow into the game, and Joselu saw a fine effort hit the post.
Immediately after the restart, Fran García who had endured a tough evening, made a fine attacking run to assist Joselu for the leveller.
Real Madrid continued to dominate, and Joselu headed home on the hour mark to make it 2-1.
Joselu was subbed off two minutes after his goal, with Eduardo Camavinga coming on to shore things at the back.
Real Madrid remained dogged to see out their victory and climb back up to the top of the league.
