It wasn’t an easy game against Real Sociedad, as Real Madrid came from 2-1 down to win the tie.
Jude Bellingham who has been the side’s best player this season, had a very difficult game.
Carlo Ancelotti admits that it was down to the formation deployed by his opposition manager.
Ancelotti said of Bellingham: “He had a steady performance, working hard. He didn’t get into the box much except for Brahim’s late run.
“Real Sociedad have a very high line and it was more difficult for him.”
Ancelotti has also urged his side to stop conceding early goals, as Real Madrid have had to come from behind and win games, thrice this season.
The gaffer warned: “We’ve conceded goals in three of the five games we’ve played, and gone behind in them.
“We have to prevent that from happening because it’s hard to get back into the game and you have to make more of an effort, as we saw today. And today it was against a side who play very good football.
“We managed to do it thanks to the commitment, energy and desire from the team, which has been something that’s been seen in all of these games. We’re capable of turning up with an intensity that our opponents find difficult to withstand for 90 minutes.”
