Since scoring the opening goal against Athletic Bilbao, in our first game of the season, Rodrygo is yet to score again for Real Madrid.

The Brazilian huffed and puffed in the Champions League tie against Union Berlin, but all to no avail.

Union Berlin kept a good defensive shape, and made life difficult for Rodrygo.

At the end, it was Jude Bellingham to the rescue again, as Real Madrid picked up all three points following a late Jude Bellingham goal.

Speaking after the game, Ancelotti explained why Rodrygo struggled.

“For Rodrygo, these games are more complicated. He’s very good there’s more space on the pitch, but here there are smaller spaces,” Carlo Ancelotti said in his post-match interview.

“He didn’t get a chance to play in the open field. Today he was unlucky because he was unable to score in two or three situations.”
