Carlo Ancelotti has admitted he’s wary of the threat posed by Diego Simeone’s men ahead of the Madrid derby.

Real Madrid have a crunch tie against Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium today, and Ancelotti is expecting a difficult game.

He said: “We have desire and enthusiasm and the concern of facing a rival with many resources.

“We have to continue with the good dynamics of this moment.

“The derby is a great opportunity. They are always special matches. They are the two teams from the capital, with a lot of quality. They are always very attempted matches and beautiful to watch.

“I don’t think it matters that they lost against Valencia. They did well against Lazio, but tomorrow is a different game.”
