Real Madrid were dealt a shocking 3-1 defeat away at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium against Atletico Madrid.

The Los Blancos who had won all their matches this season, suffered a huge defeat in the hands of their derby rivals.

Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that he should take the blame for not getting his tactics right.

Ancelotti said after the game: “Our problem today wasn’t in attack, but in defence. All the goals were basically copies, all came from the centre-backs who weren’t well positioned. I think we could have done better.

“Atleti is one of the best defending teams in Spaim. They are strong in duels, it’s not easy to find space. But it shouldn’t be an excuse.

“Obviously when the thing don’t work, it’s my responsibility. It’s not the players, it’s all my fault.

“We are sad, angry, but we must learn and go on.”
