Real Madrid lost their last game to Atletico Madrid, as Carlo Ancelotti’s men were beaten 3-1 in the Madrid derby.
Ancelotti was up for criticism for his team selection and tactics against Atletico.
Ancelotti has now responded to his critics.
He said: “Criticism is intrinsic to my position, to the coach’s job. When you lead Madrid and things don’t go well, they flourish. Logical. They don’t affect me.
“That said, I must evaluate the things that we are not doing well, which are few, but they must be worked on. My analysis is different from that of many people. Until the Metropolitano we were doing well and we must continue.
“Each system has its weakness: the diamond is not perfect, but neither is the 4-3-3. The rhombus allows you to press higher, be more intense, but you can be caught out of position in centres, because the interiors do not always reach the folds. We are working on it.
“The problem is obvious, but it can be fixed.”
