Real Madrid are away to Girona on Saturday, for a top of the table clash.

Girona are the surprise package of the season, and topped the La Liga table at the end of Matchday 7.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has hailed Girona’s start, and believes that they deserve what they’ve achieved so far. According to Ancelotti, Girona have been better than Real, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, so far this season.

Ancelotti said: “We can only look at this now and give them credit for how the table looks. Girona have done better than the rest in these early games.

“Better than us, Barcelona and Atlético. We have to respect that.

“They could be in the fight because they have the advantage of not being involved in European competition and so they have the chance to prepare well every week and allow their players to recover.”
