Vinicius Jr got a start in Real Madrid’s 3-0 victory over Girona.
The Brazilian has been out of the squad since suffering an injury in August.
Vinicius was bright even though he didn’t get a goal, and was eventually subbed off for Rodrygo in the 68th minute.
Carlo Ancelotti said after the game that Vinicius wanted to carry on.
He said: “He wanted to play more but I decided to avoid any problems. He hasn’t played for a month, so he’s lacking a bit of his spark, but the 70 minutes he played will be good for him.
“The team looked sharp. They played a solid and convincing game. Girona play good football. We did the damage when we could and also controlled the defensive aspects well. Solidity is the most important thing in these games.”
