Former Barcelona striker Kevin-Prince Boateng, has revealed an incident involving himself, Barcelona and Barca legend Lionel Messi.
Boateng has always been a fan of CR7, and considers him as his GOAT.
The Messi-Ronaldo rivalry was strong at the time, and Boateng was forced to choose his GOAT in public, and was told to pick Messi over Ronaldo.
During his conversation on Rio Ferdinand’s Vibe with FIVE podcast, Kevin-Prince Boateng revealed that he had to lie about his preferences to wear a Barcelona shirt.
“I remember when I arrived in Barca, they asked me straight away who the best player in the world was. I had to say it was Lionel Messi, but I was lying.
“It was one of the biggest lies of my life. I usually always say the truth but this one I had to lie about because I wanted to put on that shirt for one time.
“I always supported Real Madrid when I was a teenager. I love Cristiano Ronaldo. But they told me I had to say that, otherwise I wouldn’t play.”
