Former Barca player reveals what Messi asked him about Ronaldo

Former Barcelona striker Kevin-Prince Boateng, has revealed an incident involving himself and Barcelona legend Lionel Messi.

The Messi-Ronaldo rivalry was strong in previous years, following both player’s successful spell at Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.

During his conversation on Rio Ferdinand’s Vibe with FIVE podcast, Kevin-Prince Boateng revealed that Messi actually cared about his rivalry with Ronaldo.

Boateng said: “He [Messi] is the captain but doesn’t speak. He doesn’t need to speak because he’s gonna speak on the pitch. In the dressing room he spoke to one person maybe.

“We spoke one time in the shower because he asked if it’s difficult to score in Italy – because Ronaldo was there at that time, and he asked me ‘Would I score a lot of goals? Is it difficult there?’. There you could see the rivalry [between them] a little bit.

“I said yeah, it’s more difficult because it’s more important in Italy to keep the number zero than to score and he scored every game for three years.”
