According to media outlet Cadena Ser via GOAL, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola spent three hours trying to convince Jude Bellingham to join Manchester City before the England star’s move to Real Madrid this summer.
Bellingham joined Real Madrid in the summer from German side Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth £114million and has scored 10 goals in 10 games for Real Madrid.
The report adds that Manchester City offered a higher fee for Dortmund and a higher salary for Bellingham with Guardiola persuading the midfielder that the Premier League would be a better option and that City were in a better phase of development than Real Madrid.
Bellingham was determined to move to Spain despite the more lucrative offer. Guardiola respected the decision and wished both Bellingham and Real Madrid luck with the move.
