Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney has sent a note of caution to Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham.
It’s been a perfect start to life for the Englishman at the Santiago Bernabeu, with applauds coming from every corner.
Rooney has warned the 20-year-old that it won’t all be rosy, and the days are coming when he’d have a dip in form and get attacked by the Real Madrid fans.
“He [Bellingham] is in a very good shape. Currently, he is one of the best players in the world. In my opinion, he is a future captain. I’m really impressed with how he was handled, how he speaks, how he plays; he is already a leader at 20 years of age,” Wayne Rooney told the media while being unveiled as Birmingham City’s new head coach.
“But Bellingham will have a dip, and it is important that we don’t ‘kill’ him when that happens. It will pass.
“Jude has the potential to be one of the best if it continues as is. But we need to support him.
“It is difficult for any player when you have a dip in form or a problem off the pitch. It is difficult to silence the noise. You play for Real Madrid. A bad game, and they attack you.”
