Real Madrid came from behind to get a 1-1 draw with Sevilla away at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.

Chief editor for Managing Madrid Podcast, Kiyan Sobhani, slammed the referee’s handling of the game, as a number of decisions went against Real Madrid.

Sobhani also told Rodrygo to step up in his new role at the club.

“The initial plan made sense – stay compact and get the ball behind Sevilla’s wing-backs,” Kiyan Sobhani tweeted after the game.

“Ancelotti exposed them multiple times early on, and another day, Vinicius would’ve gotten a penalty on one of those sequences, and Jude’s goal would’ve counted.

“But this game was out of control. Some of the chaos normally would suit Real Madrid; today it allowed Sevilla to grow into and try to take advantage of one of Real’s weaknesses: defending balls getting pumped into the box.

“Don’t think we did a good enough job of closing space on crosses nor defending them, even despite Alaba’s 7 clearances.

“Still need more from Rodrygo; and needed more from Fede today. Jude was hunted – fouled 7 times, and 2 of them when he was about to hit open water in transition.”
