Barcelona have been accused of bribing ex-referee chief Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira from 2003 to 2018.

Real Madrid president Florentino has slammed Barcelona for being a cheating club, while Barca president Joan Laporta has also accused Real Madrid of cheating.

Some believe that Barcelona could have gotten certain refereeing favours, which helped the team.

However, Athletic Bilbao coach Ernesto Valverde has insisted that Barcelona and Real Madrid deserved all of their victories.

“Everything that has been won [by Barcelona] happened because they have been the best team,” Ernesto Valverde told the media when asked about Barcelona’s involvement in the Negreira case.

“If Real Madrid won at other times, it also happened because they were the best.”
