Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni suffered a nasty injury during the El Clasico clash with Barcelona on Saturday.
The France international sustained a fracture late in the game, while fighting for the ball with Oriol Romeu in the 87th minute.
The score was still level at 1-1, but Tchouameni chose not to be taken off as Real Madrid had exhausted their substitutions.
Real Madrid have confirmed that Aurelien Tchouameni sustained an injury in the 2-1 win over Barcelona.
In an official statement, the club stated: “After the tests carried out on our player Aurélien Tchouameni by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an incomplete stress fracture in the second metatarsal of the left foot. Pending evolution.”
Tchouameni is now expected to be out of action for around two months.
That means he will miss all the matches in November and at least most of them in the December period too.
Tchouameni has been a key figure for Real Madrid this season.
