According to Fichajes via SportsMole, Premier League side Newcastle United are ready to challenge Real Madrid for the signature of Sporting Lisbon star Goncalo Inacio.
The 22 year old defender is widely regarded as one of the best defenders in Portuguese football and has developed into an integral player for Sporting over the last three years.
Inacio has made a total of 136 senior appearances for Sporting Lisbon in all competitions, scoring 11 goals.
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly urged Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to sign Inacio but Newcastle United are ready to challenge Real Madrid for the signing of the Sporting Lisbon defender.
Newcastle United have reportedly tabled a €70m (£61m) bid for Inacio ahead of the New Year as the Premier League side look to beat Real Madrid to the transfer of the 22 year old defender.
