Real Madrid could only get a point against Rayo Vallecano at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday night.
Despite 22 goal attempts, Real Madrid couldn’t find a way to score, as the team kept missing several scoring chances.
Speaking after the game, Carlo Ancelotti insisted that he was pleased with his side’s performance despite the two points lost.
“Many opportunities created, we lacked success [in the final third]. We are hurt by the result, the match was good in my opinion,” Ancelotti said after the game.
“I’m not worried, the game was played with crosses, with vertical passes… We tried in every way, it hasn’t worked out and that can happen. The important thing is to create it until the end and do it. We have tried until the last minute.
“We are hurt by the result, not by the performance. Sometimes you win a game that you don’t deserve and sometimes you don’t win a game that you deserve.
“In the table we are very good, we are in the fight, very good in the Champions League… There is no drama.
“There is confidence that we are going to do things well, like today, because we haven’t done things wrong today.”
