Saudi Arabia club Al-Ittihad has dismiss manager Nuno Espiriti Santo.

Nuno and Karim Benzema had been at loggerheads amid some poor displays from the team.

Benzema was supposed to be the star of the team following a summer transfer to the club from Real Madrid.

Saudi Arabian outlet Al Riyadiah, has now reported that Benzema and Nuno Espirito Santo reportedly engaged in an intense exchange in the dressing room, leading to the manager’s dismissal from Al-Ittihad.

“You’re a great player, but too lazy to apply pressure on your rival,” the coach said.

“Talk to the entire group, why are you only saying it to me?” Karim responded.

Two days after the incident, the Portuguese coach was relieved of his managerial duties.

The decision however to sack the manager is also connected to the team’s recent underwhelming performances, with the club sitting in sixth place, having taken only 21 points from 12 games, despite the heavy investments over the summer.
