Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has sent out a good farewell message to some former Real Madrid stars.

Perez sent a ‘thank you’ message to the likes of Karim Benzema, Marco Asensio, Mariano, Odriozola and Eden Hazard who all left the club as free agents over the summer.

Florentino Perez said at the Real Madrid members’ General Assembly: “I want to remember Benzema. Dear Karim, we will never forget your football and the wonderful history you wrote at our club. A unique and unrepeatable player, a Ballon d’Or winner. Thank you.

“I’d also like to say thank you to Asensio, winner of 17 trophies. And also to Mariano, Odriozola and Hazard.”
