Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has taken a fresh dig at Barcelona legend Gerard Pique.

Pique had mocked Real Madrid last week for the club’s style of play, and claimed that the Los Blancos won their Champions League titles under Carlo Ancelotti in a “forgettable” way.

Carvajal has now responded, telling El Pais: “He won’t want to remember it.

“But for Real Madrid fans, the three comebacks reflect what our history is, our motto, not giving up until the end. And not just any team has that.”

Carvajal has also revealed how he has encouraged youngster Arda Guler.

On Arda Guler’s injury problems, the Real Madrid right-back added: “I have approached him to encourage him: to be calm, that this is a process, that sometimes the body has to adapt, and to do everything in his power to come back stronger.

“I speak from experience, telling him: ‘You are not alone, you are not the only one who has had this happen to him’.”
