Brahim Diaz was named in the initial line-up to start against Cadiz, while Rodrygo was among the substitute list.

However, the Italian ended up playing Rodrygo from the start, while Diaz didn’t feature.

Explaining the situation, Ancelotti stated: “I wanted to rest Rodrygo  because he’d only trained yesterday after a long trip.

“Brahim had an intestinal problem and was unable to play. I got lucky because I put  Rodrygo in and he did very well.”
